·       Annual Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $45/Single; $55/Family

·       IMPORTANT Deadline: August 21, 2020**

o   To obtain a spot in the Kids Club program, children will need to be registered by August 21, 2020**. To ensure the appropriate staff to child ratio, registrations after August 21st will be placed on a waitlist. Once it is determined that the proper number of staff are hired and trained, we will begin taking names off the waiting lists. This process may begin the week of September 14th**.

·       Register online at www.franklin.k12.wi.us, under Community>Community Education & Recreation Dept.> Kids Club. Please note: For all registrations a 48-business hour waiting period is needed to begin the Kids Club program.

In this class we will explore the effects achieved when applying India ink or pastels over watercolor. No prior art skills are required, you will also learn how to apply watercolor if you are a novice.  

 

Supplies needed:

 

140# cold pressed watercolor paper (pad, block or sheets)

board (for mounting if not in a block),

masking tape,

water container,

paper towel,

bath sized towel,

palette (foam or white plastic plate will do),

watercolor paints (basic set would be fine),

brushes (round #6, 1/4' flat, 1-1/2 - 2' Haki or similar inexpensive brush for larger washes, plus any other you would want),

India ink and nibs (or marker equivalent),

pastel pencil set.

 

Please note: I will have paint, brushes and pastels for use during class to supplement your supplies.

Looking for something fun and different to do?  Join us for Ceramic Class. Introduction to Hand Building and Wheel Throwing will be an opportunity for you to work with clay as an art medium.  You will become familiar with the basic methods of construction, decoration and vocabulary.

Learning Objectives:

  • Wheel Throwing (Create 1-2 plates, bowls or vases of any shape)
  • Mold/Drape Place Construction (Create your own plate or bowl any shape or size)
  • Slab Construction (Create your own mug or vase)
  • Surface Application such as:
                          Sgraffito (Applying underglaze to your piece and ten scratching away unwanted areas)
                          Transfer (Creating a design on newsprint and transferring that design onto your pottery piece)
                          Stencils 
                          Mishima (Technique of inlaying (applying) underglaze into carved lines, scraping away excess and covering with a clear glaze.

Note: Masks are required.
